WWE's Chris Benoit Kills Family Then Self

(AP story via The Drudge Report) - Pro wrestler Chris Benoit canceled a pay-per-view appearance at the "Vengeance" event in Houston because of "personal reasons" a day before he, his wife and their 7-year-old son were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

Details of the deaths "are going to prove a little bizarre" when released to the public, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in DeKalb County.
Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects.

Investigators believe Benoit, killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from the Whitewater Country Club.

Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths. But he declined to say how the three died.

"We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday.

Fayette County Coroner C.J. Mowell did not return phone calls. The answering service for his funeral home said he was out of town.

World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."

Sheriff's Lt. Tommy Pope told WSB-TV that the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he wouldn't release other details.

Stamford, Conn.-based WWE also said on its Web site it had been asked by authorities not to release further information on the deaths of Benoit, 40; his wife, Nancy, 43; and son, Daniel.
Benoit was born in Montreal. He was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career. He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the company said in a statement on its Web site.
Benoit had maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

UPDATE VIA TMZ.COM:
Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.

One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.

According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.

Paris Leaves Jail Violating Another Law!

I happened to wake up in the middle of the night to breaking news of Paris Hilton walking out of jail. As her parents watched from a waiting black Cadillac Escalade, Paris walked to freedom like she was working a runway. She looked beautiful without make-up, and held her head high. She should stand proud to have served the time. Yeah Yeah, many said she"should have gone to jail a long time ago," it was not enough time for her, and she was being treated differently than a 'normal' citizen. So, if you are one who thinks she was treated differently, you are right!!! She got more time in jail than a "non-Paris Hilton" would have recieved. That is a fact! HER SENTENCE WAS EXCESSIVE FOR THE TYPE OF PROBATION VIOLATION.

But, the best part of this was when Paris gets in the SUV to leave Lynwood, she DOES NOT WEAR HER SEATBELT as the car drives away!!!! HA HA HA! Gotta love this girl!!!

Brian Grazer, who won an Oscar for 'A Beautiful Mind,' will be producing a feature length film chronicling Hugh Hefner's life. Hefner, 81, reportedly approved the project last week, after selling his life rights to Grazer a few years ago. Brett Ratner, director of the 'Rush Hour' movies, will be directing the Playboy movie,

"He broke all kinds of taboos, especially in sexuality. I want to show it all, from the First Amendment (guaranteeing free speech) struggles to his first orgy to the stroke in the 1980s that almost killed him.''

I'm not sure how profitable this film will be because I thought everyone just got Playboy for the articles...

James Blunt has always annoyed the shit out of me, but at least now I have some confirmation that I'm not the only one. At first it was his whiney voice in combination with that hair. But then he started changing women like Britney changes wigs and was quoted by ASL saying,

“To all those bastards who don’t like my music – you’re all adults, you can switch your radio off. I don’t have to listen to it, I’m the one who sings it…. and it’s continued to get me laid."

Well, today is a good day. After it was playing everytime I turned on the radio, James Blunt's song 'You're Beautiful' has been voted most irritating ballad of all time. Somehow I feel like this is going to be a good week.

Madonna has added another London property to her collection, bringing the total to 6. She spent six million pounds on the 10-bedroom townhouse that adjoins the 8-bedroom home where she lives now with her family. Two nearby houses are occupied by staff, and two more houses are in central London, one of which is used as her Kabbalah headquarters.

A source said: "Madonna has been a very shrewd investor in property - this is her fourth in the area. She knows the prices are significantly lower than in Mayfair but that the area is coming up. She has said she'd like to buy the whole street. She was really keen to get her hands on this house because she knows once Paul Davies starts developing properties an area can skyrocket in price. She was calling him for eight months and her initial offers were rejected, but after a series of meetings he agreed to sell."

Madonna has had some issues in trying to renovate all these properties, though, saying "I can't believe how people don't like to work. The week starts at noon on Monday and ends at noon on Friday. I'm used to people in America working seven days a week." Easy there, Madge.

Cardellini may be best known for her roles as high school student Lindsay Weir on Freaks and Geeks and as nurse Samantha Taggart on ER. "The guy was smoking weed while he tattooed me and he didn't do it correctly. Now it's nothing and I'm gonna get it removed. I was told he was a really amazing tattoo artist but he wasn't on his game that night. He was distracted."

The tatoo was reportedly supposed to be a tribal design, but it turned out to be a messy mark. I would think that's the beauty of getting a tribal tattoo. No one knows what it's really supposed to be anyway. Just add a butterfly or a rose with the word mom in there and that thing will look good as new.

A Mighty Heart, Not So Mighty

Angelina Jolie's 'A Mighty Heart' did not fair well at the box office this weekend. In it's opening weekend, it was beat out by nine other films including 'Nancy Drew.' Among other unflattering things, Rotten Tomatoes said, "On so many levels, "A Mighty Heart" is almost as excruciating to write about as it is to watch." Maybe this is why Angelina does not want the press around.

Evan Almighty was also a box office bomb as it only pulled in $32 million after USA Today reported it took an estimated $125 million to make the film. I'm not sure who's laughing at those figures. Although, you have to expect modern day ark building to be a little pricey.

Now this will make you laugh out loud. Foxy Brown broke up with her boyfriend at 5:30 a.m. this morning in Brooklyn because she found out he was a pimp. Having none of this, the ex called three of his ... working women ... to take care of her. The girls ripped out her weave, stole her handbag and $500, and pulled out her hearing aid! Whoa!

Foxy filed a complaint at the police station, and the police drove her around looking for the attackers. They found one, who was arrested.

This is way better than that Kristy Swanson showdown! Pulled out her hearing aid? How do you even do that - aren't those microscopic these days? You couldn't make this stuff up.

Prince William and Kate Middleton - Back On?

Reports are claiming that earlier this month, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended a party at an army barracks together where they kissed, and that means they're back on. Kate is also invited to the memorial concert for Princess Diana on July 1.

Although Prince William's reps declined to comment ("William's private life is private"), Britain's News of the World is claiming that the two have been on several dates since their April break-up.

This may be jumping the gun, don't you think? Of course she's invited to the Concert for Diana - that doesn't scream we're dating again. And after dating for 5 years, I bet Kate and some of William's friends are friends themselves, so going to the same party is not unheard of. But, if true, I like it - they were good together.

50 Cent is Going to Court

Rapper 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, is headed to court over child support. Apparently, the $25,000 a month he is currently paying to Shaniqu Tompkins, the mother of his 10-year old son Marquise Jackson, is not enough. Tompkins attorney, Raoul Felder, claims 50 is "worth tens and tens of millions of dollars."

Actually Forbes put his estimated earnings at $33 million last year with his G-Unit record label, clothing line, and ring tones, among other entrepreneurial efforts. He has also sold more than 11 million albums and is dropping another one, "Curtis," this September.

The hearing has been taking place in Long Island, where 50 arrived in a armored SUV sporting a satellite dish. I'm sure this did not help his case. Also not helping his case is his stake in VitaminWater. Sources are saying 50 could see up to $100 million from its proposed sale to Coca-Cola.

50 has reportedly been a good dad and has always paid child support. This sounds like a case of someone trying to cash in. But who can blame her? It has got to be a struggle to survive on $25,000 a month. Come on girl.

First NBC, Now Barbara Walters: 'No Paris'

It was reported that Meredith Vieira and the Today Show would get the first post-prison interview with Paris Hilton. However, after rumors surfaced that they paid $1 million for the exclusive, NBC pulled out, saying they never pay for interviews. With only three days to go until the big release date, who will ask Paris all the burning questions?

It won't be Barbara Walters. Apparently she's upset that she wasn't the first choice. Kathy Hilton had been speaking with Babs back and forth trying to get the interview on track, which ended with a call between Paris and Barbara where Paris "said she was sorry about all of the negotiations that had been outside of her control."

Then, Rick Hilton got in on the action, leaving a message with Barbara yesterday. I don't know what he said, but she must not have liked it because by the afternoon, Barbara's rep called to say there would be no interview.

So now it's up for grabs, but it will probably cost a pretty penny. The Hilton camp may want upwards of $1 milion. That's a lot to pay for things we mostly know already. I can tell you how the interview will go down: "Jail sucked. It was cold. The food was gross. The inmates were nice. I got a lot of mail. This made me a better person." There you go, no exclusive necessary.

Britney's New Song Is "Dope"

Rumor has it, Britney is going back on tour June 30 at L.A.'s Greek Theatre. "She'll be joining Cyndi Lauper, Erasure, Debbie Harry, The Dresden Dolls, The MisShapes with special guest Jeffree Star and host Margaret Cho live onstage for the "True Colors" concert tour," Spears's choreographer, Misha Gabriel, told PEOPLE.

She has been auditioning dancers who have been performing to her new song. One dancer said,

"It was dope. It reminded me of that one song you hear at 1:50 a.m., when they call last call at a club, and it's the hottest, nastiest song you've ever heard in your life and you've just got to put your drink down and dance to it. You've got no choice. You're body is insisting on it."

Deciphering this quote, I took a couple things from it. It's late (1:50 a.m.) and you've had too much too drink (you've just got to put your drink down). The combination of being tired and drunk would probably make Britney's new song sound good. I think all of her release parties should happen under these two conditions.

Somehow Steve-O Gets Another Show

We live in an age where having absolutely no talent can make you a famous, rich television star. So it's no surprise that Steve-O, known for performing juvenile piercing tricks among other asinine exploits on 'Jackass,' will have his own show starting in October.

The show will have the ever paradoxical title, 'Dr. Steve-O.' The premise is for Steve-O to continue his antics on a group of men nominated by their wives, girlfriends, buddies, or themselves in order to "de-wussify" them. He will travel around to help these poor men through various stunts.

Nothing like drop kicking a cinder block or racking yourself to make you a real man. Good luck to all you Dr. Steve-O hopefuls.

Blair was born Selma Blair Beitner in Southfield, Michigan, to Molly Ann and Elliot Beitner, who divorced when Blair was 23; she subsequently legally changed her surname to reflect that she has "nothing to do" with her father and he is "out of" her life. She has three older sisters, Katherine (a book publicist), Elizabeth, and Marie.

The Summer of Musical Reunions

First there was the Police, and now we're getting a little more updated with our band reunions. You've heard the Spice Girls rumors, but there are even more musical folk getting back together.

First up, No Doubt. Celebrity Babylon caught the foursome at a studio in L.A. on June 21.

"When we stumbled upon the secret session, CB saw Gwen first, "Oh wait," she told us, "just a sec..." She came out with her three bandmates and said she wanted everyone in the picture, not just her."

The album could be ready by Fall 2008.

Smashing Pumpkins are also back in the game, releasing four different versions of its new album "Zeitgeist", due out July 17. It looks like the Pumpkins are getting all sell-out on us, though.

"Albums sold at Best Buy stores include the bonus track 'Death From Above' while those sold at Target will feature the song 'Zeitgeist'. Additionally, the iTunes version of the album has a bonus track entitled 'Stellar'."

I have to admit, this is the one I'm most excited about. I once followed four tour buses after a concert in hopes of meeting the Pumpkins at their hotel. (I know, give me a break, I was 16.) We ended up following Ben Harper and all of his innocent criminals to Burger King instead. If I had known then what I know now, I would have stayed to have a Whopper with him, but I was hell-bent on finding Billy Corgan. Unfortunately, we followed Alana Davis and Blues Traveler, and when we finally caught the Pumpkins bus, we ran out of gas. So it goes.

And this last one is not so much reunion, as beefing up the tour schedule. The Cure has announced a full fall US tour, and it's going to be the real deal:

"Led as always by lead singer/guitarist Robert Smith, the Cure line-up comprises longtime members bass player Simon Gallup, drummer Jason Cooper and, back in the band for a third time, guitarist Porl Thompson."

There are some movie roles where you can't imagine anyone else playing the part. There are other roles where you think, anyone but that actor should've played the part. Then there are those roles where the actor is still kicking themselves for not taking it...

Charlie's Angels-Thandie Newton turned down the role played by Lucy Liu because she wanted to work with her husband Oliver Parker on a low-budget British film instead.

Little Miss Sunshine -Bill Murray turned down Steve Carell's role, which reportedly became one of the few choices in his career that he regretted.

Ghost- Bruce Willis turned down the role of Sam Wheat in Ghost (the role played by Patrick Swayze opposite Willis's now ex-wife Demi Moore) "because he didn't think the plot would work and that playing a ghost would be detrimental to his career". Ironically, he played a ghost in The Sixth Sense. Molly Ringwald turned down Moore's role.

Shakespeare in Love- Kate Winslet turned down Gwyneth Paltrow's Oscar-winning role, as did Julia Roberts.

Pretty Woman-Daryl Hannah turned down the role of Vivian because she felt it was denigrating to women. She later appeared in Dancing at the Blue Iguana as a stripper. Molly Ringwald also passed. Vivian's role was snapped up by Julia Roberts and the rest is history. Al Pacino turned down Richard Gere's role.

It's Official - Eddie Murphy's the Dad!

Sorry, Eddie, the truth hurts. After publicly fighting that Melanie Brown's daughter was his and forcing a DNA test, the results are in. Eddie Murphy is the father of Angel Iris Murphy Brown, now two months old.

"He's the baby's father, it's official," says a source close to Brown. "The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his." Of Brown, the source said, "There was no doubt in people's minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn't a surprise to her. She knew all along."

Congratulations to the happy couple! er, maybe not happy. At least they know now.

Chad Michael Murray is a (Cheater) Diva

We all know the story of how Chad Michael Murray allegedly cheated on his wife Sophia Bush numerous times and divorced her after 5 months of marriage. We also know how he's now with, barely legal, Kenzie Dalton. So does it really surprise us that he is a reported "jealous diva" toward other male actors. Especially those who worked opposite Bush, even after their separation.

John Cates, who played "Rusty" on "One Tree Hill," may have had his role ended on the series because of Murray. A friend of Cate's said, "Chad told producers, 'It's no more John Cates or no more Chad Michael Murray,' because he thought John and Sophia were flirting." Another insider said, "Chad was a terror to work with. Writers kept plotting him and John against each other, and Chad took it seriously. He told everyone on set he couldn't stand John, and finally producers wrote him off the show."

A rep for Murray is denying the story, "This is inaccurate." A studio source at Warner Bros. Television said, "Casting decisions are made by the studio, the network and producers. This guest star's story line was wrapped up, and production moved on." Cates could not be reached. Maybe he's busy hanging out with Sophia...

Britney Spears Getting a Restraining Order?

It looks like those reports of a reconciliation between Britney Spears and her mom might be a little premature. X17 reports that Britney recently visited her attorney to file a restraining order against Lynne, keeping her away from Jayden and Sean. The source said there are some "very deep problems between the two."

Britney can't catch a break on the music side of things either. Her rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, told Life & Style that her album has been pushed back from this fall to 2008.

According to their source:

"Spears has been having trouble getting her creative juices flowing in the studio and was actually expecting the album to be pushed back an additional year because of all of the problems Brit's been having. 'Jive [Records, Brit's label] hated the songs Britney was coming up with, except for a few. The executives are not happy. And she didn't want to listen to anyone. Everything was a problem for her. They wanted her to work with certain people, and she wanted the opposite.'"

AND, even photo shoots are going poorly. Page Six reports,

"There was a shoot last week in L.A. for a new perfume she's coming out with and something happened," a source says. "She got very upset and stormed out of the shoot and wouldn't come back. She is not listening to anyone and doing exactly what she wants. But sometimes she doesn't know best."

Oh yeah, and she's drinking again. On June 15, at Lola's in West Hollywood, “She had two Jack [Daniels] and Cokes and an orange-flavored martini,” Lola’s manager, Sylvie Haines, tells Us Weekly, adding that “her whole visit was pretty low-key and she didn’t seem drunk.”

Wow, Britney is strugglin'. I just don't know what to say at this point. She's not listening to the people who want to help, and refuses to do anything proactive on her own. I see rehab in her future ... again - hopefully she stays longer next time.

Paris Hilton's Car Gets Repo-ed

It's tough to pay the bills when you're in jail. Reportedly, Paris' car has been repossessed after the last two payments were not made. Her car, a Mercedes worth $500,000, has been towed away during her 45-day sentence.

A source at the recovery lot where the vehicle is being held told Australia's New Weekly magazine:

"When we learned it was Paris's car, we were shocked. She must have been so distracted with everything else, she forgot to pay her bills!"

She doesn't read her own mail, right? I'm guessing she doesn't pay her own bills either.

Paris Hilton Calls Ryan Seacrest

Yesterday afternoon, Paris Hilton again used her limited phone time to talk to the media. Not Barbara Walters this time, but Ryan Seacrest. Paris says she's doing better than before, and that this has been a learning experience. Some excerpts:

"I've had a lot of alone time to think and read and write. Even though it's been horrible and really hard, I think that God makes everything happen for a reason and this is my time to figure out what my purpose is in life. I've really grown from it."

"I'm so much more grateful for everything that I have, even just to have a pillow at night or food or anything. My gratitude has gone up so much and I just realize that the media used me to make fun of and be mean about. I'm frankly sick of it. I want to use my fame in a good way."

"I had no idea how many supporters I have. (I've gotten letters) from kids who are four years old saying this is the first letter they've ever written. Letters saying, 'I respect you so much, I think you're a brave woman…'"

First of all, parents are letting their four year olds write to Paris Hilton? Why do four year olds know who she is? Ok, moving on. If Paris really means it, and she turns over a new leaf, I think it's great. She could really do a lot of good if she tried. However, I'll believe it when I see it. It's really easy to say all of this when you're locked up and don't have the temptations of L.A. at your disposal.

And Paris should be careful how many phone calls she makes in the next couple days or we'll already know everything she's going to say in the $1 million interview with NBC.

You guys may know this story, but as I was watching Top Chef last night, I noticed for the first time the scar on Padma Lakshmi’s arm, and I got curious. A little research revealed she shattered her arm in a bad car accident when she was 14. In college, while Padma was studying in Spain, she began modeling, but they always covered the scar with sleeves and makeup until Helmut Newton made a point of displaying the beauty of her scar. From then on, photographers stopped covering the scar, and Padma stopped being self-conscious.

“I love my scar. It is so much a part of me. I’m not sure I would remove it even if a doctor could wave a magic wand and delete it from my arm. The scar has singled me out and made me who I am.”

Harrison Ford's scar on his chin happened in a car accident. Ford lost control of his car while trying to put on his seat belt. The scar has become a part of a few of his films. The third Indiana Jones film had him cutting his chin with a whip as a child. In Working Girl, it was claimed that he had fainted and smashed his chin on the toilet while trying to pierce his ear as a teenager.

Prince William, the second in line to the throne, has gained access to the income accrued on the £6.5 million he was left in the Princess's will. That converts to almost 13 million dollars. Sources say the future King will, for now, not touch the money. That's until Harry convinces him it's time to party.

Dane Cook is getting some awfully good movie roles lately. The movies may not be stellar, but look at his co-stars. First there was Jessica Simpson in Employee of the Month, then Jessica Alba in Good Luck Chuck, and now he's got Kate Hudson.

Dane Cook and Kate Hudson are teaming up for Bachelor No. 2, in which men hire Dane Cook to take out their ex-girlfriends on horrifying dates in order to drive them back to the ex-boyfriend. Shooting is scheduled to start in August.

It could be funny, but if Kate and Dane start dating while filming, I will not be happy about it. Owen Wilson and Dane Cook are not even on the same playing field.

Howard Stern Sued For Sales Technique

Kelly Lockwood, CEO of JEC Nutrition, is about to hit Howard Stern with a $100 million dollar lawsuit. Lockwood claims he has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote his product on Stern’s show, but when Howard talked negatively about his product, sales dropped more that 20 percent.

On June 6, Lee Mroszak, Crazy Cabbie, came on the show to talk about losing 20 pounds using the product.

"The first thing out of Howard's mouth was, 'Geez, Cabbie, you look fatter than ever,' " Lockwood said. "Then, [Stern sidekick] Ralph Circella says to Cabbie something like, 'What the hell are you doing in here promoting a weight-loss product, you fat piece of [bleep]! Why don't you lose 60 more pounds and then come back?' This was horrendous for us. Our sales have dropped more than 20 percent. In seven minutes, he undid all the good work we did."

The defamation suit will be filed this week in federal court in New Jersey charging both Stern and Sirius radio.

During one of many stints in rehab, Pete Doherty detailed his love for Kate Moss and what it is that comes between them in his newly published diaries. Read below as Pete poors his heart out ... kind of.

Here are the highlights:
"smack and needle-free we shall marry in the summer and I become 10 times happier than any given smackhead. Huzzah!" It appears that Kate requires Pete to be clean before they're married. It also appears they can still date if he's loaded, though, seeing as how they're still spotted everywhere together. Huzzah indeed.

"For single mothers everywhere in love with crackheads, you are a shining light of hope." You hear that single moms in love with crackheads? There is hope. Just look to Kate Moss for direction.

Pete also discusses his many fights with Kate, which seem to always be about his drug addiction:
"My dear sweet love would appear to be in somewhat of a rage perhaps due to my being decamped to the potting shed." Does anyone else think it's funny that it's called a potting shed? I mean, it's a little self-fulfilling.

And then it looks like Kate broke the lock on the diary, writing ""You have touched my heart and soul... You make me high, my sweet, my skin shivers and longs to be held by you." So she understands that she should use feelings and words he'll understand. He seems pretty familiar with being high and having skin shivers.

This is love people. Kate and Pete are in it for the long haul.

Paris May Get Her Day in the Sun

Rocky Delgadillo, the Los Angeles prosecutor who led the campaign to jail Paris Hilton, may have to lead a similar campaign against his wife. Michelle Delgadillo was given one year's probation after she pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge of driving without a license. The ticket also alleged the car she was driving was not registered and had no proof of insurance. This comes NINE years after she committed the offense. The arrest warrant was issued in 1998, but had never been pursued by authorities.

Saying this information coming to light is an embarrassment to Rocky Delgadillo may be the understatement of the year, since he demanded a jail term for Paris Hilton after she committed the same offense. When Paris was released early, he accused the LA sheriffs office of double standards and, in turn, Paris got sent back to prison to complete her term. Now Delgadillo is facing the same double standard accusations.
Yahoo reports,

"A spokesman for the city attorney's office said Michelle Delgadillo had been unaware that a warrant for her arrest remained on file. 'When she learned that this bench warrant was active, Michelle took immediate steps to remedy the situation, spokesman Nick Velasquez said. Michelle is very sorry for what has happened, and has taken immediate steps to deal with this matter forthrightly.'"

Oh there's more. Earlier this week lawyer Delgadillo acknowledged he had occasionally allowed his wife to use a city-owned vehicle for personal errands. The Times also reported on Wednesday that the Delgadillos had been consistently late in paying parking fines.

How does that saying go? Oh yeah, don't throw people in the slammer if you live in a glass house. Especially if you share that glass house with a wife who broke the same law. Karma is a bitch.

In 2006, she became the highest paid actress in the film industry. That same year, Kidman was made a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC), Australia's highest civilian honor.

After making various appearances in film and television, Kidman received her breakthrough role in the thriller Dead Calm. Since then, Kidman's acting career has developed greatly. In 2003, Kidman received her Star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California. Kidman is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, a singer and a successful recording artist.

Ellen Pompeo's Man May Have A Shady Past

Here's another story from Star Magazine, so take that how you will.

Apparently, Ellen Pompeo's fiancé, Chris Ivery, has done a little jail time. And not just any jail time, but a 14-month stint in a federal prison during the 1990's after pleading guilty to postal theft and credit card fraud. Ellen was told a little about Chris's past, but not the whole story. "Yeah, he used a credit card that wasn't his when he was 18. Show me a teenager from Boston who doesn't have a record!" Star says not quite, Ellen. They say Ivery has "at least 13 criminal convictions in Massachusetts — including ones for dealing cocaine and pot — and has had three lengthy jail sentences!"

"When the news first came out that Chris had spent time in prison for fraud, Ellen just shrugged it off," says a friend. "She said he had told her everything about what happened long ago, and that it didn't make one bit of difference to her; it's in the past. But she has never let on that he was convicted of dealing cocaine and pot, too."

If true, it looks like Chris has changed his ways. But just for the record, let's take a look at the wonder that is Star Magazine and their latest reports that have turned out to be somewhat questionable:

Anne Hathaway has done a lot of charity work in various places, including Nicaragua and Honduras, with the organization Follieri Foundation. The foundation was established by Anne's boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, and Anne is a board member. But all may not be what it seems at the charity organization.

"...a prominent Californian investor accuses Mr Follieri of "wilfully and systematically misappropriating" at least $1.5 million intended for a joint property venture. The lawsuit alleges part of the money was improperly loaned to the Follieri Foundation, of which Hathaway is a board member. According to legal records, Mr Follieri also lavished hundreds of thousands of dollars on private jets for himself and Hathaway, on a penthouse apartment in New York and at five-star hotels and restaurants."

Weren't they around when all the white collar guys were going to jail for embezzlement? Come on, Anne, you have to be smarter than that! Although celebrity crime has a way of making you even more famous, so there will eventually be an upside I'm sure. I'm just not convinced that the potential jail time, should these allegations be true, is worth the increase in fame.

She's 45!

In the 1980s, Abdul rose from being a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers NBA basketball team to being a sought-after choreographer at the height of the music video era, then to being a Pop-R&B singer with a string of hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

According to Abdul, she has sold over 53 million records to date. After her initial period of success, she suffered a series of reverses in her professional and personal life, until she found renewed fame and success in the 2000s as a judge on the highly rated television series American Idol.

Abdul was born in San Fernando, California, to Harry Abdul, who once worked as a livestock trader and owns a sand and gravel business in California, and Lorraine Rykiss, a former concert pianist who once worked as an assistant to film director Billy Wilder. Abdul's father was a Mizrahi Syrian Jew who immigrated with his family to Brazil and then to the U.S., while her mother is also Jewish and originally from Saint Boniface, an area of Winnipeg, Canada.

She and her sister, Wendy, who is seven years older, lived with their mother in the San Fernando Valley. As a small child Abdul's interest in a career as a performer was inspired by Gene Kelly in the classic film Singin' in the Rain as well as such entertainers as Debbie Allen, Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis Jr., Fred Astaire, and Bob Fosse. When asked in an interview about black influence:

“ Absolutely....As a young kid growing up, I admired the talent of so many [Black artists]. Black kids identified with me because we all danced together, and we shared that love for art. My favorite artists were Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, the O'Jays—that's what I grew up on. That was my consciousness.”

Abdul began dance lessons around the age of eight and showed a natural talent for it. She attended Van Nuys High School where she was on the cheerleading squad, and was an honors student. At 15, she received a scholarship to a dance camp near Palm Springs.

Abdul enrolled at California State University at Northridge to study broadcasting. In her freshman year, she tried out for the Los Angeles Lakers' famed Laker Girls squad and was selected from a pool of 700. Within three months she became head choreographer. She quit school six months later.

Rossellini is the daughter of Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and the Italian director Roberto Rossellini. She has three siblings from her mother: her twin sister Isotta Ingrid Rossellini, who is an adjunct professor of Italian literature; a brother, Roberto Ingmar Rossellini, who works in finance; and a half-sister, Pia Lindström, who formerly worked on television and is from her mother's first marriage. She also has four other siblings from her father's two other marriages: Romano (died at age 9), Renzo, Gil, and Raffaella.

Rossellini was born and raised in Rome, Santa Marinella, and Paris. At the age of 13, she was diagnosed with scoliosis. In order to correct it, Isabella had to undergo an 18 month ordeal of painful stretching, body casts, surgery on her spine using pieces of one of her shin bones (used to add supports for the individual vertebrae without risking foreign body rejection issues), and a recovery from that surgery. Consequently, she has permanent incision scars on her back and shin. Incidentally, her daughter, Elettra, also developed scoliosis when she was a child.

At the age of 19, she came to New York, where she worked as a translator and a RAI television reporter. She also appeared intermittently on Roberto Benigni's Italian comedy show, "The Other Sunday." However, she did not decide to stay full time in New York until her marriage to Martin Scorsese (1979-1982). After her marriage to Scorsese, she married Jon Wiedemann (1983-1986), a German model (now a Microsoft executive), and gave birth to a daughter, Elettra. Later, she dated David Lynch, Gary Oldman, and Gregory Mosher.

At the age of 28, her modeling career began, when she was photographed by Bruce Weber for British Vogue and by Bill King for American Vogue. During her career, she has also worked with many other renowned photographers, including Richard Avedon, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, Norman Parkinson, Eve Arnold, Francesco Scavullo, Annie Leibovitz, and Robert Mapplethorpe. Her image has appeared on such magazines as Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and ELLE. Furthermore, in March 1988, an exhibition dedicated to photographs of her, called Portrait of a Woman, was held at the Musee d'Art Moderne in Paris.

Rossellini's modeling career led her into the world of cosmetics, when she became the exclusive spokesmodel for the international cosmetics brand Lancôme in 1982, replacing Nancy Duteil in the United States and Carol Alt in Europe. While there, in 1990, she was involved in product development for Lancôme's fragrance Trésor. Later, in 1995, she worked with the Coty Group and developed her own brand of cosmetics, Isabella Rossellini's Manifesto. However, in 1996, after 14 years with the company, she was infamously removed as the face of Lancôme for being "too old", since she was in her 40s at the time.

A Bit of Trivia:

She closely resembles her mother and performed an eerily accurate parody of Bergman's character Ilsa Lund from Casablanca in a Robert Zemeckis-directed episode of Tales from the Crypt called "You, Murderer." In this episode, she plays the scheming wife of a Humphrey Bogart character. This episode is best known for the fact that Humphrey Bogart and Alfred Hitchcock were digitally inserted using old video clips and CGI.
In 1997, Isabella provided voice acting for the video game Ceremony of Innocence, together with Paul McGann and Ben Kingsley. She also provided her voice for the 1996 video game Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland.
She performed the live narration for Guy Maddin's silent film The Brand Upon the Brain at the New York Film Festival on October 15, 2006.
She holds dual United States and Italian citizenship.

Us Weekly reveals that the much-hyped and advertised 21st birthday part of Lindsay Lohan, scheduled at PURE in Las Vegas for July 2, has been canceled. We were all curious seeing as how she's been at Promises Treatment Center since May 28.

"The party was canceled officially over 2 weeks ago. We were confused why PURE was even still promoting it," says Lohan's rep. "But Lindsay will not be having the birthday party at PURE and is focusing on her recovery 100%.”

Lindsay was let out of the deal in exchange for a promise to make a future appearance.

If Lindsay ever does fall off the wagon, though, at least she won't get another DUI. The Georgi car service has offered Lindsay and Paris Hilton free chauffeur service anytime they want. Um, Georgi, you may be a little late - it would have been a bit more helpful about a month ago.

It seems a "raunchy advertisement" is on her website that sales her Love Kylie Princess line, lingerie that's geared toward 8-16 year-olds. Next to the kids' club link, the site advertises the lingerie as "sexy, racy, girly, fun, comfortable for everyday ... and night."

"Love Kylie is a lingerie range which appeals to the good girl and bad girl in all women," the text reads. "Kylie looks to offer women the opportunity to spoil themselves and insists ‘there’s nothing wrong with a little indulgence!’. Kylie herself believes that today lingerie is like shoes and diamonds - a girl simply can’t have too many."

A spokeswoman defended the products, saying they have two separate lines: the Love Kylie Princess club, and Love Kylie. The Love Kylie Princess Club, is "about little girls. It's about having fun." A spokeswoman said, "We're really specific about the audiences that we target."

Perhaps they should be a bit more careful about where they target those specific audiences. If you thought the pre-teen girls emulating Britney was bad, wait until they have lingerie to match.

Does it even seem plausible to make a movie out of the board game Monopoly, let alone a comedy thriller? Ridley Scott, creator of 'Gladiator' is apparently going to attempt to do just that. Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst are being considered for roles.

The games maker, Hasbro, wants the film to feature "sexy young people," which they believe will make the teenage generation want to play board games. Scarlett and Kirsten are probably arguing over who gets to be the car. The thimble is definitely not sexy.

Despite the consequences of Nick Lachey's "Newlyweds," Vanessa Minnillo may be in talks to star in her own reality show. "The show would just follow her around in her day," a source tells NY Daily News, adding "She really wants to be famous." The show will not air on MTV.

However, Vanessa's affinity for knives and Lindsay Lohan may stop the deal from happening. That's odd, because I thought whacked out behavior was exactly the thing that made reality TV what it is today.

So we're just going to see what Vanessa does all day? She's not even working anymore, is she, since her TRL stint ended? I need more than a day in the life of Vanessa to watch this. She just doesn't have the draw that Paula Abdul will have on Bravo's "Hey, Paula".

Kristy Swanson, mosty known as the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her stint on Skating with Celebrities, was arrested last night in Ontario for allegedly assaulting the ex-wife of Lloyd Eisler, Kristy's current "companion." We're not sure what really went down, but it looks like each woman is playing the victim.

"Swanson, 37, claims she was attacked by O'Brien in front of Eisler and O'Brien's children. The actress's rep, Michael Sands, says Swanson plans to press charges against O'Brien, saying that police took photographs of her back and other parts of her upper extremities to document the injuries."

O'Brien's only comment when asked if she was at fault was, "Why have I not been charged?"

Daytime Emmy Winners

At the Kodak Theater on Friday, soap opera stars and talk show hosts gathered to honor one another. The main event, though, was the award for best talk show. Would it be The View, with its season of fantastic Rosie ratings? Unfortunately for Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth, the answer was no. Ellen DeGeneres took home the awards for best talk show AND best host for the fourth consecutive year. In accepting the award, though, she said Rosie O'Donnell should have won.

"I liked what she did. This was the year she should have won. I wanted to acknowledge Rosie because she has done a lot. ... I don't know who should replace her but I don't think it should be Paris Hilton. That would not work."

Also taking home some Daytime Emmy love was Bob Barker, who was named best game show host.

Better luck next year, ladies of The View. Until then, giving Paris a shot at the host spot would at least be funny for awhile. You still wouldn't win the Emmy, but I'd start watching your show.

We have an Angelina Jolie triple whammy. First she doesn't like the media, then she gives a paparazzi a lift, and now she may be reconciling with her estranged father, Jon Voight.

The media story: At the Mighty Heart premiere, Fox News reported that her lawyer required all journalists to sign a contract before talking to her that requested they not ask any personal questions. They also claim that Jolie banned Fox News from the red carpet altogether. The irony of the situation is that the premiere was supporting the Reporters Without Borders organization. However, Jolie laid the controversy to rest by allowing all media outlets to ask all questions. And on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, she explained that her reps were only looking out for her, and the agreement was not mandatory in anyway.

The paparazzi story: Thursday, paparazzi James Ambler was following Angelina on his bicycle when he punctured his tire on a nail. Just when he thought he was going to lose the picture, Angelina pulled over and said "Lance, why don't you jump in the car?" After he got in, they continued chatting. Why is Candy Spelling continuously writing letters to TMZ.com with this "better than thou" attitude? Her latest letter is reportedly to Britney Spears. Here is an excerpt:

"You've driven me back to my laptop to ask why, if you have to slither in and out of cars, do clumsy imitations of gymnasts and wear clothes that are just too tight, trashy or skimpy, do you have to pose in front of photographers all the time?"

This comes after she wrote letters about/to Joe Francis and Paris Hilton and Larry Birkhead. If you were really concernced about these people wouldn't you contact them personally instead of putting it out there on a web site? In fact, the last time I checked you have family issues of your own. Candy, put down the vodka martinis when you are near a keyboard and go spend some time with your grandchild.

The custody battle is finally over between David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach, and Hasselhoff has come out on top. Even though he had visitation suspended after the drunken hamburger manhandling video, the court thought that he was a better parent than Bach. The court psychologist found that Pamela was abusive to her kids and refused to submit to drug and alcohol testing, whereas David voluntarily agreed to submit to alcohol testing. I'm not sure any tests are required - we already know the answer to that one.

And Debra Opri's not fairing so well either. First Larry Birkhead sues her, now she loses a high-profile custody battle? She might start losing her celebrity clientele soon.

Helen Elizabeth Hunt (born June 15, 1963) is an Emmy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning American actress, perhaps most widely known for her role in the television sitcom Mad About You.

She's 44!

Hunt began her career in the 1970s as a child actress. Her early roles included an appearance as Murray Slaughter's daughter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and a regular role in the television series The Swiss Family Robinson. She appeared as a marijuana-smoking classmate on an episode of The Facts of Life. She also appeared as a young woman who, while on PCP, jumps out of a second-story window in a 1982 after school special called Desperate Lives. In the mid-1980s, she had a recurring role on St. Elsewhere as Clancy Williams, girlfriend of Dr. Jack "Boomer" Morrison.

In the 1990s, after the lead female role in the short-lived My Life and Times, Hunt became well-known to television audiences in Mad About You, winning Emmy Awards for her performance in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. Over 25 million people tuned in to see her performance in an episode titled, "The Birth". By the end of the show in 1999, Hunt was the (then) highest-paid TV actress in history, earning $1 million per episode.

Hunt has also had a successful film career, with roles in movies such as Cast Away and the 1996 blockbuster Twister. After winning an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1998 for her performance in As Good as It Gets, she took time off from movie work to play Viola in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

In 2000, Hunt returned to the screen in four films: Dr. T & the Women with Richard Gere, Pay It Forward with Kevin Spacey & Haley Joel Osment, What Women Want with Mel Gibson, and Cast Away with Tom Hanks. In 2003, she returned to Broadway in Yasmina Reza's Life x 3.

In 2006, Hunt appeared in a small role in the film Bobby. Her directorial debut came with the film Then She Found Me, a film in which she also starred.

She currently owns a production company with Connie Tavel, Hunt/Tavel Productions under Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Aside from being the highest paid actress on TV, she also commanded the highest ever fee for a screen actress.
Murphy Brown's Candice Bergen praised Hunt as her "hero" in her Emmy acceptance speech.
She is unrelated to actress Bonnie Hunt, who was originally offered the Mad About You female lead.
Steven Spielberg wrote Hunt a fan letter after seeing her play Tami Maida in Quarterback Princess and Hunt wrote Spielberg a fan letter too after seeing Saving Private Ryan.
Her daughter's name, Makena'lei, comes from the name of a town in Maui, Hawaii.

Today on Live with Regis and Kelly, Jeremy Piven bet that he could do double the number of push-ups that Kelly Ripa did. So they went at it right on the studio floor. And what do you know, Jeremy lost to a girl ... a teeny-tiny girl that might not even break the hundred mark on a scale. He barely did the same number of push-ups as Kelly (who pounded out 45 reps without stopping), let alone double. I'm not sure Jeremy will ever live this one down.

Did Nicole Richie Get Pregnant to Stay Out of Jail?

So the rumors have been flying about Nicole Richie being pregnant, but the NY Post is not only reporting she's pregnant, but they're giving a reason why and confirmiing it's Joel Madden's baby. A friend said,

"Nicole is kind of hoping her pregnancy will keep her out of jail. [But they are] "wondering if she can carry the baby to term because of her weight issues."

Weight issues? I guess these were not issues:
Driving the wrong way on the 134 Freeway and charged with DUI
The "scale at the front door" email
One of many visits to the hospital for "dehydration"

Right, weight is definitely the issue as to why she shouldn't have a baby.
